Apple Regional Training Centres deliver courses to build the skills and confidence of educators to use Apple technology inside and outside the classroom. They are a community who share best practices and inspire excellence through teaching with Apple technology.

 

Being selected as an Apple Regional Training Centre highlights our commitment to facilitating training for teachers to develop skills and build confidence to use Apple technology in the classroom.

 

Apple Regional Training Centres create a community to share best practice and support teaching staff to attain Apple Teacher status, a professional learning programme designed to support and celebrate educators.

 

Teachers from across the region can attend courses to build their knowledge and skills using technology in the classroom and earn badges to achieve their Apple Teacher recognition.

 

Across the UK and Ireland, the goals of all Apple Regional Training Centres are to:

 

• facilitate training opportunities for teachers to develop skills using Apple technology in the classroom

• promote Apple in Education and share new products and innovations with educators

• build Apple Teacher across the region

• share best practices, build community and inspire excellence.

Torquay Apple Regional Training Centre, at Shiphay Learning Academy, offers educators in our local area the opportunity to learn how Apple technology can make a difference to teaching and learning in the classroom. The Apple Teacher Programme can help you to develop the skills needed to deliver powerful learning experiences with iPad in the classroom. During each session, you will have the opportunity to earn some Apple Teacher badges. We will be offering 8 free training courses over the year.

Apple Teacher Introduction and Welcome

Thursday 13th September 2018 at 4:00pm till 5:30pm

Come along to our Twilight Teach Meet session.

 

We will be joining Apple Teacher, a new professional learning program designed to support teachers using Apple products in teaching and learning. In this session, as an educator you’ll be building your own skills on iPad that directly apply to activities with your pupils.

 

We’ll be using Apple Teacher Starter Guides that teach you from the basics right up to advanced. These interactive guides give you multiple ways to learn and include all the materials and instructions you need to build projects in iMovie, GarageBand, Keynote, Pages, and Numbers. They also teach you how to use some of the apps together to be more creative and productive with lessons and student activities to make most of class learning.

 

This will be an interactive experience using iPads with curated resources, learning collections, tips, lesson ideas, and inspiration from other teachers.

 

We’ll also be using the free Apple Classroom which assists you to guide students through a lesson, see their progress and keep them on track.
